Wellbutrin (buPROPion) 300 XL 3 years
Depression
I have had 3 episodes of amnesia. The first was while I was driving! It lasted 20 minutes. I knew what town I was in but didn't know where I was. The second time amnesia lasted 7 1/2 hours. I knew my name but didn't know where I was or where I lived. I ended up in the hospital. The third time I at my doctor's office, got upset and went into amnesia for 3 hours. These episodes are frightening! Each time I had an episode I lost time prior to the episode start. I lost a whole week of memory. I didn't realize that Wellbutrin can cause amnesia until tonight. I will wean myself off ASAP. Has anyone else experienced amnesia?

Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) 70mg 2 months
Difficulty focusing
Decreased ability to pay attention
Problems with attention/concentration
Overall the medication has had more positive effects than negative! I was aware of the possibility of all the side effects prior to taking Vyvanse, so nothing has come as a surprise.

I believe the insomnia will all depend on your personal dosage and what time you take the medication. If you find you struggle with it, set your alarm earlier, wake up just to take the medicine, then go back to sleep until you normally wake up. The weight loss isn't necessarily a negative side effect, but make sure it's not rapid weight loss. If you eat breakfast with your medicine, you're more likely to eat again throughout the day! Plus!.. it Will work better if you have food in your stomach.

I would say the most annoying side effect is the irritability. I find most often that I become irritated because I'm focusing on something and someone interrupts my focus.

Like I said, it has had way more positive effects in my opinion.

I am doing so much better in my studies! And my ability to hold a "normal" conversation has increased. They say a mental euphoric state can occur.. well I find that I don't have a euphoric state of mind, rather, I have more self confidence! The majority of little things I would struggle with daily are no longer huge bumps in the road. I am more alert during the day now and I am able to actually focus on one thing for longer periods of time. I also used to be an emotional eater. I don't know how, but with the "decrease in appetite" I've become healthier, because I am more aware of what I'm eating(since sometimes I don't want to eat). I'm also less lethargic and have started to exercise more. It's been a very beneficial medication!

Lexapro (escitalopram) 20 mg 90 days
Depression
No better despite dropping the dose to 10 mg/day. Started to improve after just three days off the drug. Thankfully found out that the depression was probably due to B12 deficiency, so maybe don't need the Lexapro... 48 Male 11/13

Celexa (citalopram) 5 9 weeks
Depression
Celexa has helped w/ the depression, however, still have these terrible side effects. I think I've lost at least 8 lbs. in the past two months. I hope they go away, as it is may not be worth it, or perhaps there is a another medication I can go on instead. I started out w/ the full dose of 10 mgs., experienced really bad nausea and diarrhea right away, so the doctor advised me to start w/ a half (.5). I cut it down to 1/4 (.25 mgs), then slowly brought it up to .75 mgs (3/4 of a normal 10mg), but I thought I did not need so much so I've it back down to 5mgs. 54 Female 11/13

Synthroid (levothyroxine) 25mcg 9 weeks
Underactive thyroid gland ("hypothyroidism" - low levels of thyroid hormone - may cause subtle or extreme loss of energy; sluggisheness; hoarse voice; heavy menstruation; puffy face/eyes; pale, dry skin; weight gain; sensitivity to cold; constipation; muscle aches/stiffness/weakness; increased cholesterol levels; anemia; hearing loss; elevated CK/creatinine phosphokinase; abnormal liver blood tests; thinning of the hair and eyebrows; loss of body hair; depression; decreased body temperature; coma)
i started taking synthroid about 9 weeks ago. 25mcg a day in morning. I am subclinical and had all kinds of symptoms such as unable to sleep, weight gain, tired all the time, loss libido, heavy menstruation, cold all the time and many more. I was taking a natural product and stopped when my endo prescribed synthroid. I have not felt good since. I was extremely tired and lost alot of my allready thin hair that i had left. My skin got even dryer than before. The only improvement i have noticed was my libido seems a little better and my menstruation was not as heavy. I still have no energy and believe that synthroid is not a drug of choice if we all had one. 41 Female 11/03

I just started the gabapentin a few days ago. I'm pretty impressed so far after just a few days. I can feel some relief from the pain. It gives me a "high", "wired" feeling but it doesn't bother me enough to stop taking it. I have tried soooooo many different types of drugs trying to find relief. My fingers are crossed so far so good. 41 Female 10/22
