The day following first dose, was on a plane for 7 hours and had moderate lower back pain. Since then, particularly after sitting, I get serious pain in the right Gluteus muscle group including the lower right back. It is possible that 10 days prior to taking the first dose, I injured that muscle group playing basketball - perhaps the muscle soreness was a reaction to an unhealed injury that would otherwise have healed.	33	Male	11/18

Bactrim DS (sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim) 1 pill 1 days			Urinary tract infection	Hives	About 20 minutes after taking my first pill, I started itching. Never having an allergic reaction to anything before- I thought it was a bug bite. But very quickly several other places started to itch and my husband noticed a hive on my forehead. I immediately decided not to take any more of these pills and called the doctor. He said take 50 mg of Benedryl. Within 20 minutes of the call (about 40 minutes of taking the pill) the worst was already over. I still took the Benedryl- but only 25 mg. I was itchy off and on for the next two hours, then I went to bed. Of interest to some readers, I am 9 weeks pregnant. My biggest fears came from wondering how all this would affect my baby. The doctor assured me that my baby wasn't going to be affected. Since my reaction was so minor compared to others and because I took so little Benedryl, I am hoping that he is right.	36	Female	11/07

Malarone (atovaquone-proguanil) 1 tablet 10 days			Malaria	Psychosis/schizophrenia	Took Malarone for 10 days on arrival in Mombassa Kenya. Holiay was a nightmare - literally. Malarone brought on Psycosis which took 6 weeks after returning to the UK to reduce to 'normal'.Psycosis and mental illness also have relapsed 6 months later. Now ongoing......... amoxicillin 1x 8 hrs			Infection	Headache	Oral surgeon prescribed amoxicillin for infected and impacted wisdom tooth. Tooth was hurting and was taking Motrin but I never had a headache and pain was not severe. I took 2 pills as instructed and about an hour later I had the worstheadache of my life where my head was pulsing and I was holding it. It was horrible. Was the headache a side effect from the medicine, result of the medicine working to fight the infection, caused by the infection itself (the doctor said this is why but I do not agree since I did not have a headache previously) or something else? I am a petite person so I would be curious if I should have just started by taking 1. I have never had such a severe reaction before.	27	Female	09/23

Revlimid (lenalidomide) 25 mg 21 days			Multiple myeloma (a cancer that involved accumulation of abnormal "plasma" cells in the bone marrow - can cause anemia, bleeding, recurring infections, bone pain and weakness)	Underactive thyroid gland Hearing loss	My hair has thinned, gotten straight and most of it has fallen out. I'm having intestinal cramping, low white counts and low neutrophils. I've been on it for over two years and now it's taking me longer for my white count to go up. It doesn't make it all the way to normal, even though my doctor says that my cancer is almost in remission. And even more worrisome is the fact that I am loosing my hearing and I have very bothersome tinitus. I'm being treated with intratympanal Dexamethasone in injections. I take 40 mg of this drug with the first dose of Revlimid each cycle.	48	Female	09/03

Concerta (methylphenidate) 54			Adhesions (formation of scar tissue after trauma, infection or surgery - may cause pain or blockage)	Nausea Digestive tract bleeding	I thought I was bleeding from hemroids but was i wrong,It became so common I didn't think anything of it until i started to bleed out, I was given every ct scan and dye test that the hospital could give me. then I read the warning again and it states that concerta may be visible on abdominal x-rays. maybe that is why the DR couldn't find anything, I required 16 units of blood 4 units of platlettes and 4 units of plazma,after i stopped bleeding I was released from the hospital and put back on concerta, i started bleeding immediatly, after a comment from my nurse practicioneer I stopped taking it and the bleeding stopped but I am just not the same and can't work like i used to. I lost everything being in the hospital and trying to recoperate	56	Male	08/20

I took 3 days worth for a "presumed" UTI. You learn the hard way that the doctors and nurses don't really understand the dangers of these drugs and prescribe them a bit too easily. I would rather wait out my infection, if thats what it was, then go through all this. My symptoms started within a couple days and was focused on rashs, brusing, strong joint pain and tendonitis anywhere you could think of it. The swelling followed later and then about 2 months afterwards, the vision issues showed up. My heart rate was increased from its normal 65-75 bpm to 80-90 bpm. Recently, it has dropped but my blood pressure has risen and is erratic. I have spells of lightheadedness and nausea, often after sleeping, but also after moderate exercise. This has progressed into insomnia and panic attacks which come with rapid heart rate and blood pressure changes (palpitations according to the ER staff). The stuff is insideous. You think you are getting over it and other crap shows up. It has affected all aspects of my life and pocketbook. Doctors need to be educated by patient advocates, not the drug company.			08/13
