i started taking synthroid about 9 weeks ago. 25mcg a day in morning. I am subclinical and had all kinds of symptoms such as unable to sleep, weight gain, tired all the time, loss libido, heavy menstruation, cold all the time and many more. I was taking a natural product and stopped when my endo prescribed synthroid. I have not felt good since. I was extremely tired and lost alot of my allready thin hair that i had left. My skin got even dryer than before. The only improvement i have noticed was my libido seems a little better and my menstruation was not as heavy. Sertraline - When dose increased from 100mg to 150mg, really vivid dreams started. Thank God not nightmares, but still really weird. Remember a dream every morning.
Levothyroxine - When dose increased from 50mg to 100mg, chest pains started. Very worrying at first but pain has decreased. Lost my appetite almost immediately. I don't know whether the tiredness is due to the lack of sleep, loss of appetite, or just the medication. Tiredness is very slowly decreasing (but i still need to nap for 2 hours every day). When first started taking 100mg didn't have any problems sleeping. In fact, it was excessive (but I was still knackered). Now it takes me hours to fall asleep at night but I'm still tired. Over the past few days I've been feeling sick as I (wait to) fall asleep. I also get bad pain in my feet and legs, like sharp throbbing, as I lay in bed. Headache is always at the front above left eye. I feel so shakey all the time. My legs feel like jello sometimes. I need to hold onto the hand rail when I walk down stairs as I feel so unstable. 2bh I didn't experience any hypothyroidism 'problems' prior to being diagnosed (I had goitre, but it was pointed out to me by my Doctor [I didn't notice it myself]). Since taking the Levo I feel 100, make that 1000, times worse. The Sertraline is generally ok. Everyone says they wish they remembered their dreams, I did at 1 time, but now they're kinda annoying! |

I began taking Levothyroxine 25 mcg and within a week was experiencing what I call horrible chest pain. Throughout the week I also had many episodes of flutters and palpitations. My main concern is what is causing the chest pain. I have gone off the medicine and seem to be slowly returning to normal, but am terrified to try another Levothyroxine. Also concerned I may have heart issues. My doctor says she's never seen a reaction like this and is doubtful it's the medicine. I have been on synthetic thyroid replacement for over 25 yrs. We know
this drug can cause neuropathy, and heart problems. I was put on this medication back in the 80's after being given a radioisotope for graves disease. I am thankful to have been doing as well as I have for so long, but... would have liked to be given more information for long term use of the medication. I am going on 50, and have horrible joint and muscle pain, and deterniative bone loss. Again, I am thankful for the replacement therapy but... darn guys be honest with us about the long haul so we know what to expect!!!! |

Purpose of TriLyte was to prepare for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I followed instructions to mix packets and added orange flavor packet. In less than five minutes after drinking a sip (under 2 ounces) my breathing became constricted, my muscles tightened up across my rib cage and it felt as if my airways had shut down by 95 percent; my chest, arms and legs went completely numb (there was no tingling). At the same time, my esophagus felt like it was on fire. I also felt as if I'd been anesthetized (put to sleep); my body felt paralyzed as if my lungs had shut down and my eyes were compelled to close. I felt perfectly fine before ingesting this test preparation drug but almost immediately drinking less than 4 ounces, I l had to lay down immediately and remained in the same position for several hours. The whole experience was terrifying. I woke up in time for my exam and could move by then, however, my breathing was constricted for about over a month. When it comes to before and after chest scans, my left lung shrunk significantly almost immediately.
